As a nonprofit organization that believes in enriching the lives of its community members, the Friends of the Chesterfield County Public Library is always on the lookout for the best and brightest volunteers. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities at the Library branches and for special events.
Please note that a Chesterfield County Friends of the Library membership and a
Chesterfield County Public Library card in good standing are required to become a volunteer.
Board Member Positions
We are Recruiting Board Members!
The Friends are looking for enthusiastic, library-loving volunteers for two vacant positions on the Friends’ Board of Directors:
- The Vice President of Fundraising/Book Sales helps coordinate fundraisers and identifies new opportunities to generate income for the Friends. The VP of Fundraising also helps coordinate online and in-person book sales, including the Really Big Book Sale.
- The Recording Secretary accurately records the minutes of all board meetings (once a month, typically on the second Monday) and additional meetings as needed. The recording secretary also maintains archives of previous minutes and other important documents.
These are important positions with voting responsibility. Friends membership is a requirement of all board positions. Board members serve two-year terms and should be able to commit approximately 3-5 hours a week to their role.
If you are interested or have any questions, please email President@ChesterfieldFriends.org. Tell us which position(s) you are interested in, why you are interested, and a bit about your experience in these areas. The next step will be to participate in a brief interview.
Come join this great group of volunteers!
